Feed Up to Twice a Week Per Gallon
If you're new to growing, or new to our nutrients, you might be confused when it comes to our feeding schedules. This will help you navigate our feeding schedules, and also help you if you're a new grower who is unsure on what to do.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Holland Secret (Grow, Micro, Bloom) is meant for all three parts to be used together every feeding at different concentrations.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
For example, our 8 WEEK FEED SCHEDULE: SOIL (mL per gallon):
- The numbers that appear on this feed schedule are in mLs (of nutrient) per gallon (of water).
- Week 1, you would mix together 4mL of Micro, 5mL of Grow, and 2mL of Bloom for every 1 gallon of water you're feeding to your plants

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What is the suggested PPM range?
The numbers along the bottom are PPM or Parts Per Million. These numbers represent the TDS or Total Dissolved Solids in the water you are feeding to your plants. Unless you are using RO water, all water will have a starting PPM number. Any water with a starting PPM of over 200 is considered hard water . If you suspect you may have hard water CLICK HERE .
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The suggested PPM range is the range you want your nutrient solution to be in. This means, once you have mixed your nutrients with water, you should measure your PPMs with a meter and make sure you are within range. If you aren't, you either measured your nutrients wrong, measured your water wrong, or you are growing with hard water.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We measure our PPMs on a 500 scale!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Why is the feeding schedule on my bottle different from the one on your website?
We continue to perform ongoing testing and research on cannabis plants. As new strains and techniques are developed, we adjust our feed schedule accordingly. You will always find the most up to date feed schedule on our website under DOWNLOADS .
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Our feeding schedules are not necessarily meant to be followed exactly. With thousands of different strains and variables, every grow will be different. What works for one plant, may not work for another. Our schedule is meant to be a starting point in which you can tweak it to your plants liking. Your plants will always tell you what they want. Look out closely for signs of stress, under or over watering, nutrient burn, or nutrient lockout. You can CLICK HERE to read more about these common issues.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
How often should I feed my plants?
Many growers get confused with these measurements because they're unsure how much water to give to their plant. Unfortunately, there's no hard or fast rule.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
How much water your plant needs is dependent on a variety of factors: indoor or outdoor, growing medium, pot size, plant size, humidity levels, airflow, etc.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Most new growers will have to experiment in the beginning with how much water their plant wants. If you are getting runoff every feeding, you're probably watering too much. You will see signs of under or over watering in the leaves.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Some plants can be watered every day, but with others it won't be necessary. When growing in soil, stick your finger into the soil 4-5cm deep. If the soil is dry, it is time to water.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Remember, a young plant will take up less water than a mature one. Small plants might only need to be watered every 2-3 days.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
How to tell when your plants need to be fed or watered:
- Drooping leaves can be a sign of under watering. However, they can also be a sign of over watering. In the case of over watering, your plant should still have green leaves while in most under watering situations the plant will look sickly.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- Yellow or brown leaves can be a sign of under watering. However, it is completely normal for leaves to turn color during flowering. If you have yellow or brown leaves during vegetation, your plant is likely suffering.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Under watering is better than over watering! Not only is under watering easier to correct, but when your under watered plants are showing signs of distress it should only take a few hours to perk them back up.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
How do I mix my nutrients?
You should mix your nutrients in the order on the feed schedule, always mixing Micro first. Please allow proper mixing time in between nutrients. When mixing a large reservoir with a mixing pump we recommend 1-2 minutes between products. If you're mixing a small watering container by hand, we recommend 30-60 seconds between products. You should be able to visually see that the product has been mixed.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Flushing:
We recommend a straight pHed water flush every third feeding.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What does this mean?
pHed water is regular water that you have pHed to be in the ideal range for growing cannabis (5.8-6.2).
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Every third feeding (this could be every third day, or every third week, depending on how often you water your plants) we recommend a water flush.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A water flush involves taking your pHed water and feeding your plants until runoff.
⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Flushing involves giving your cannabis plants straight pHed water instead of a nutrient solution. Flushing can and should be done at many times throughout your grow. With our feed schedule, we recommend growers flush with pHed water every third feeding. Additionally, you may need to flush your plant if any nutrient lockout occurs due to an excess build up of nutrients in your growing medium.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
For soil and coco growers, flushing means watering your plants with only water and no nutrients. For hydroponic growers, flushing means switching out your nutrient solution with straight water.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Flushing for hydroponic growers will involve fully draining your reservoir, cleaning it if necessary, and refilling it with plain pHed water. This water should be pumped through the system, discarded, and the reservoir filled again with straight water. Let this run through for 24 hours before refilling with your nutrient solution. You will have to do this every 1-2 weeks.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When To Flush:
You will need to flush at the end of your grow when your plants are almost ready to be harvested. But there are other times you will need to flush as well!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- When you are experiencing a nutrient lockout it is often caused by an excess build up of nutrients in your growing medium. A water flush will flush out the nutrients and give you a blank slate to start from. You may have to flush repeatedly to ensure your plant is clear of all nutrients before introducing new nutrients into your growing medium.
- Flushing should be done every third feeding. We recommend a straight water flush every third feeding for best results. Always make sure you are pHing your water before flushing or feeding.
- Some growers flush when switching from veg to bloom.
- Some growers flush when switching their nutrient line.
Can I just use one part of Holland Secret?
No! Your grow could suffer deficiencies and nutrient lockout if you are missing the other parts of Holland Secret .
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Micro, Grow, and Bloom are meant to be used together at different concentrations throughout your grow. They have been tested in real world applications on cannabis plants to ensure they are providing all the essential micro and macro nutrients your plant needs to survive and thrive.
I'm growing with Easy Grow+ & Bloom+... do I use them together like Holland Secret?
No! Easy Grow+ and Easy Bloom+ is designed to be a one part program (versus Holland Secret Three Part). This means you just use Grow+ during the vegetative stage and Bloom+ during the flowering stage.
